About Ysgol Eirias VIth Form

Ysgol Eirias
Mar 2017

Year 13 students had the chance to meet with Conwy County Councillors as part of an initiative to encourage political engagement amongst young adults.  Students met with Cllr Ian Jenkins, (Plaid Cymru), Cllr Emily Owen (Wesh Labour) and also ex-student Adam Kealey who will be standing as a candidate in the next Council elections, representing the Welsh Conservatives.  Other political parties were contacted but unable to attend this particular event.

Mar 2017

Students from Year 11, 12 and 13 attended a careers seminar run by Construction Manager Richard Wynne and Quantity Surveyor Ben Cobley, an ex-eirias pupil. Both work for Wynne Construction who are a local construction business and delivered a session to the pupils designed to inform them about opportunities relating to the construction industry and answer any questions they had about potential careers in this area.

Mary Poppins, Christopher Marlow, Nurse Ratched and a Jedi walk into the library. No it’s not the start of a convoluted joke.

We had our World Book Day celebrations on Thursday 2nd March and our English faculty and some sixth form students turned up in true literary (and pop literature) fashion.
