About Ysgol Eirias VIth Form

Ysgol Eirias
Nov 2016

An exciting partnership between CADW and Ysgol Eirias saw 6th form students ‘take over’ at Plas Mawr in Conwy for the day. 25 Year 12 History students were given responsibility to be custodians of the historic Elizabethan House for the day, guiding primary school students around the site.

Nov 2016

Year 9 Historians visited the Weeping Poppies’ at Caernarfon Castle. The selected pupils had spent time researching important factors why Remembrance Day is still important today. The trip involved puils climbing the turrets of Caernarfon Castle and  exploring the castle grounds before they filmed footage about remembrance. One group decided to focus on the Welsh poet Hedd Wyn andf the other group the importance of Remembrance with the poppy today.

Oct 2016

We Are Writers is an exciting new adventure for Ysgol Eirias and the first time we have produced our very own book.  It all started earlier in the year with Year 9 students deciding to either write a story, poem, letter, or an article.

Oct 2016

Earlier this month Year 13 historians from Ysgol Eirias had a thought provoking trip to the National Archives.

We were welcomed by the charming staff of the Archives where we were led to a viewing to see some inspiring documents. From Henry VIII's personal documents to not one, but two genuine copies of the Declaration of Independence!
