A group of ex-students gathered at school over the half term break, but it was a visit with a bit of a difference; they all attended Eirias late 50s early 60s.

They have been organising a reunion for some time with some of the past students travelling from the local area but others from further afield.

Ex teachers, ex lawyers, ex Eirias staff members, doctors, professors, builders, members of the local community all came back to share stories and to relive the memories of attending school over 50 years ago.

The reunion party had a tour of the school on Wednesday morning followed by a meal and presentations at Venue Cymru.

In the future, members of the reunion are looking at setting up 'The Oak Foundation' for the school and have been shown great interest in our alumni pages.

Students at Eirias would have had to secure a score in the top 5% nationally (UK) to attain these awards.

This mean that students who won the awards attained results from their exams that were in the top 5% of all students in the UK.

By achieving this award, they would be eligible for a £500 cash award should they follow an approved degree course.
