Twelve pupils from Year 9 visited Abergele Fire Service for four days recently to participate in The Phoenix Project.

The Project is a fire and rescue initiative that is aimed at young people between the ages of 13 and 17 to experience a learning opportunity outside of school.

Over 5 days, students will participate in fire service activities that will challenge both mental and physical limits, improve teamwork skills, help provide an understanding of discipline and consequences, and develop confidence and self esteem.

The course hopes to challenge existing attitudes, promote independent thinking and help young people realise their potential.
