Year 13 students were able to engage in a lively ‘Question Time’ style hustings event recently prior to the general election.
We were very pleased to welcome the Parliamentary candidates for the Conservative Party, David Jones; Jo Thomas for the Labour Party; Dave Wilkins for the Liberal Democrats and Elfed Williams for Plaid Cymru. Chris Hemmings represented the Green Party.
Our guests answered questions prepared by our students on issues that are important to them including: why should young people vote? What can be done to tackle climate change? What can be done to improve the NHS in Wales? Do you think tuition fees are fair and what is your party’s plan to tackle crime?
We are very grateful to our guests for giving up their time at this very busy period to engage with our students.
Thank also to Christian Fuller in Year 13 who did most of the organisation to arrange the event, despite suffering from a chest infection!
