After 4 years of entering, our five Year 12 computer science students were awarded a prize for their automatic registering system in the North Wales finals of the EESW VI Form Project competition at the Big Bang Fair at Venue Cymru.
Our 5 year 12 computer science students (Matthew Browne, Dan Hughes, Dominic Frank, Luke Palethorpe & Isaac Wetton) took part yesterday in the North Wales finals of the EESW VI Form Project competition at the Big Bang Fair at Venue Cymru.
Their project, set by Bangor University, was a computer system for automatically registering students at the start of lectures. The system involved scanning RFID identify cards whilst taking a picture of each student as they registered and provided a screen for checking each person against a stored photograph to check the person was who they said they were.
After presenting their solution to 2 panels of judges, the team were awarded a £250 prize for the best use of information technology.
