Holocaust Memorial Day talk

Over 150 GCSE and A Level History students attended a talk from visiting educator John Levy for Holocaust Memorial Day.

You could have heard a pin drop as students heard about the experiences of John's father, who was an Amy chaplain during World War II, supporting Jewish soldiers in the British Army in many different theatres of war.

He was also present at the liberation of Begen-Belsen concentration camp at the end of the war, and bore witness to these events in later years. A lively question and answer session followed. We are very grateful to John for travelling up to North Wales from London at very short notice after another speaker was unable to attend due to illness.

We are also very grateful to Sharn Asbridge and Roy Thurley from the Llandudno Holocaust Memorial Committee who have worked tirelessly to support these events over a number of years.
