Following its continued recognition as one of the Sunday Times’ top ten schools for A Level performance, Ysgol Eirias students have once again proven why the school holds such a prestigious position. This year, our Year 13 sixth form students have demonstrated exceptional dedication and academic excellence, achieving superb results that reflect their hard work and determination.
Outstanding performances have enabled a significant number of students to continue their studies through many courses such as Accounting, Building and Construction, and a range of Science based courses. We are very pleased to see a number of our learners entering the fields of Art, Fashion and Drama. We are delighted that 85% of our learners have been accepted on their first choice in their pursuit of courses. They have been successful in areas supporting health such as nursing, radiography, medicine, pharmacy, physiotherapy and paramedics and in areas using language skills such as Linguistics and Journalism. 3D Animation and Engineering are also a newer popular choice. All of our learners have gained access to the routes that they were intending on following.
Our students were overjoyed with their success and excellent results. It is notable that many areas gained high results in A*-A including: Maths (77%), Art (63%), Geography (50%), Computer Science (50%), Economics (40%) whilst several areas had high results in A* - B including: Literature (100%), French and German (100%), PE (100 % Distinction), RS (71%), Medical Science (67%), Biology (64%), Health Diploma (63%). Whilst these areas stand out in terms of high achievement, we are proud of all of the results that have been so thoroughly deserved.
Headteacher, Mrs Zoe Evans said: "I’m incredibly proud of the achievements of these dedicated and driven young adults. They truly reflect the values of our school and their families. Our staff are delighted with the outcomes and I am deeply appreciative of the hard work and commitment that they demonstrate in shaping the futures of our learners.”
