WAG Report shows that Eirias adds ‘significant’ value added performance
The WAG has developed a set of value-added performance indicators to measure post-16 learner outcomes and progress, based on the Welsh Exams Database. The WAG make predictions regarding post-16 performance in A Levels and equivalent qualifications and then assess whether students have ‘added value’ to their predicted performance – i.e. whether they have achieved higher grades than expected.
According to this report, the average grades achieved by our learners and the total number of points achieved by each student was significantly higher than was expected based on GCSE data. The great majority of subjects added value to the performance of students and ‘statistically significant value’ was added in Art, Biology, Business Studies, History, Mathematics, Sport Studies (OCR Cambridge Technical Diploma Level 3) and Welsh (2nd Language). Both boys and girls added value to their performance compared to expectations.
