Two-Week Timetable

 Introduction of a Two-Week Timetable

Dear Students,

We are writing to let you know about an important change coming to our school timetable. Starting Wednesday 3rd September, we will move to a two-week timetable. This means that instead of having the same schedule every week, you’ll now follow a Week A / Week B pattern, which will alternate each week.

Why are we making this change?

This new timetable system gives us more flexibility to plan your lessons. It allows us to:

  • Offer a wide range of subjects and activities.
  • Spread lessons more evenly throughout the term.
  • Reduce repeated lessons in a single week.
  • Create a more balanced and less rushed schedule for you.

Many other schools already use this system successfully, and students often find it easier to manage once they get used to the system.

How will it work?

You will receive two clear copies of your timetable: one for Week A and one for Week B.

For example:

Week A

Week B

Here’s what to expect:

  • We will begin the year on the Week A timetable.
  • The second week of term will follow the Week B timetable.
  • This pattern will continue throughout the year: A, B, A, B, and so on.
  • Holiday weeks do not form part of the cycle.

While there may be slight changes between Week A and Week B, you’ll still have all of your subjects across the fortnight.

We’ll also help you keep track:

  • Teachers and form tutors will remind you regularly which week it is.
  • There will be notices around school and online e.g. TEAMS and the School web-site to keep you updated.

Need help? Just ask.

We understand that changes like this can take some time to get used to - and that’s okay. Your teachers, form tutors, and the school staff are here to support you every step of the way.

Thank you in advance for being adaptable and positive about this change. We are confident this new system will make your school experience even better, and we know you’ll take it in your stride.

If you have any questions or concerns, just speak to your form tutor or any member of staff. We’re always here to help.

Kindest regards,

Mrs. Zoe Evans Headteacher
