In line with the recent Welsh Government Consultation we have reviewed our uniform policy and made some minor changes. Please see the images below for main school and PE uniform listings.

School uniform is available from:

Boppers in Colwyn Bay, now at 4-6 Abergele Road, and also School Talk in Llandudno (within the newsagents opposite the Empire Hotel), but most items are readily available in a variety of local shops.

Year 7 to Year 11

School uniform is compulsory for all students. The final decision in ANY matter relating to uniform lies with the Head teacher. You may be referred to the Student Manager who will provide you with correct items of uniform or remover for nail vanish and makeup. All items must be clearly named

  • Plain white school shirt worn with a school tie in house colours. Shirts must be tucked in and ties done up properly.
  • Maroon jumper with school badge.
  • Black full length plain trousers (not jeans, jean style, skin tight or leggings style) OR a plain black knee length skirt.
  • Plain, low heeled black leather type shoes with no logos.
  • Plain appropriate topcoat.
  • Tights (opaque or sheer) should be a neutral colour or black Socks worn with skirts should be black or white. Black socks with trousers
  • Hair should be neat, tidy and an even natural in colour. No extreme hairstyle is permitted.
  • Religious headwear, if worn, should be plain black.
  • The only jewellery to be worn is a watch, one pair of stud earrings (one in each earlobe only)
  • Make up if worn should be natural looking.
  • A strong school bag to carry equipment including pens, pencils, ruler, calculator, etc.


You must NOT wear:

  • hoodies or sweatshirts
  • polo shirts except for PE
  • trainers (except for PE),
  • jeans or leggings
  • shoes that are boots, canvas, trainers/trainer style, backless or open-toed
  • have an extreme of hairstyle e.g. very short or tramlines
  • excessive make up including false nails and false eyelashes or nail varnish
  • nose studs, tongue studs ,lobe stretchers
  • coats, scarves and gloves inside the building
  • phones/headphones if seen or heard will be confiscated

Please note: The school will not be responsible for valuable items brought into school.

PE uniform

Girls

  • White gym top with collar and Ysgol Eirias logo
  • Black games shorts/cycle shorts OR plain black sports leggings (not track suit bottoms no zips or pockets on the leggings)
  • Trainers
  • Red hooded sweatshirt with school crest

Boys

  • White gym top with collar and Ysgol Eirias logo,
  • Plain black sports leggings (not track suit bottoms no zips or pockets on the leggings) Black “rugby/football” socks
  • Trainers
  • Red and black reversible rugby jersey
  • Black shorts

All trainers must have non marking soles. We recommend that boys and girls have a shin pads and a gum shield. PE uniform must be carried in a clearly named bag to help return it to you if misplaced

Sixth Form Uniform

  • Black full length plain trousers (not jeans, jean style, skin tight or leggings style) OR
  • A plain black knee length skirt.
  • Religious headwear, if worn, should be plain black.
  • The only jewellery to be worn is a watch, one pair of stud earrings (one in each earlobe only)
  • Make up if worn should be natural looking.
  • A strong school bag to carry equipment including pens, pencils, ruler, calculator, etc.
