What is Virtual Sports Day?
Hi Pawb
Welcome to the first ever primary transition Virtual Sports Day.
As you have missed your final primary school sports day, Virtual Sports Day is an opportunity for pupils from any primary school to take on a series of physical activity challenges.
The competition is open to everyone as we want to get as many people to get involved as possible during the challenge week.
There are 8 challenges for you to complete throughout the week which you can perform and enter as many times as you wish.
The last data you enter will be your registered attempts.
The challenges included are a mix of strength, coordination, balance and speed activities. You do not have to perform the activities in order but the aim is to complete either as many repetitions as possible or to see how long you can sustain the activity for, dependent upon the challenge.
Each entry contributes points to your school totals and there are also virtual prizes for the top performers for each challenge.
Please help spread the word with your friends and get as many people participating in Virtual Sports Day as possible.
Pob lwc pawb!
What equipment will I need to take part?
You will only need to have method of timing yourself e.g. your mobile phone, a small ball such as tennis ball, a larger ball e.g. a football, a wall and a small space to perform the challenges.
What are the challenges?
Watch the 8 videos below to see the Ysgol Eirias PE teachers demonstrating the challenges. It is important that you use the same techniques as the ones shown – practice them before making an attempt where you will record the result.
