A record breaking Open Evening for Eirias

A wonderful occasion saw Eirias come to life last week as we welcomed visitors from near and far.

As well as all of our staff, we had nearly 300 student helpers and over 800 visitors, the most visitors we’ve ever had on an open evening. Our helpers from all year groups did a fantastic job of guiding, demonstrating, and answering questions.

There was a plethora of activities including science experiments, gym displays, cooking in the food tech room, food tasting, badge and keyring making, coding, laser cutting, drama games, xylophone lessons, Welsh music, Cyber Crime, Maths challenges, language games and Chinese lanterns, digital literacy, free books and guided tours of ALN and transition support - all with a warmth that gave the event a relaxed atmosphere that carried through the early evening, when the guests packed out the hall to listen to some inspiring words from our newly appointed Headteacher, Mrs Zoe Evans.

We would like to say that on behalf of the whole school, we thank you for your support during Open Evening. The visiting pupils, parents and guardians were extremely complimentary about the school and all of our helpers, and we couldn't do it without our wonderful staff and students.

Diolch yn fawr iawn - thank you for joining us last week to see the Eirias family at work!
