Eirias pupils were recently involved in a fantastic afternoon helping our community to plant bulbs and trees ready for spring next year! The bulb planting project aims increase biodiversity, using the green space available on the access land off Craig Rd in Old Colwyn.

It was arranged through the Community Development Officer for Conwy County Borough Council and Cartrefi Conwy/Creating Enterprise and involved volunteers from local businesses (@mancoedvm) and schools (Eirias and Swn Y Don Primary)

It total over 6000 bulbs were planted and over 20 trees! The learners were fantastic, even despite a rather long uphill walk and getting covered in mud- their teacher totalled 17,000 steps on the day #healthandwellbeing.

We are very proud of them and their achievements in helping the community. Some even decided to litter pick on the way back as they ‘want to look after our community and the environment’
