Eirias pupil, Lily Braden, to Represent the United Kingdom in Global Chinese Competition

Year 13 student, Lily Braden has been selected to represent the UK at the 18th “Chinese Bridge” Global Final for Secondary School Students.

Back in May this year, we reported on Lily's success with the national competition https://eirias.co.uk/news/2025...

In the article, Lily explains that "Chinese Bridge is a competition where secondary school students from across the country prepare a two-minute speech in Mandarin and then depending on the category, must either complete a translation or produce an impromptu speech in Chinese."

Her endeavour has clearly paid off. She has now been selected to take part in the finals in China.

As a "dedicated student at the Confucius Institute at Bangor University", Lily is said to "be a fantastic ambassador for both Bangor University and young Mandarin learners across the country."
