Tom recently took part in the UKMT (UK Mathematics Trust), a national competition for students in Year 8 and below. Despite being only in Year 7, Tom achieved the highest score in the school and was awarded a Gold Certificate – the highest award available.

Thanks to his outstanding score, Tom qualified for the Junior Kangaroo, the next stage of the competition. This is an incredible achievement, as only a small number of students progress to this round. Tom continued his excellent performance and earned a Silver Certificate.
