Move to One-Hour Lessons from September 2026
From September 2026, we will move from six 50-minute lessons to five 60-minute lessons each day. There will be no change to the start or finish time of the school day.
This change has been designed to enhance teaching and learning by providing:
- More time for deep learning, discussion and reflection.
- Greater opportunities for practical activities and extended learning tasks.
- Fewer lesson transitions, helping learners remain focused throughout the day.
- A timetable that continues to support a broad and balanced curriculum, including GCSE and A Level study.
We are confident that this new structure will provide an even better learning experience for our students.
