Diversity and Inclusion is at the heart of what we do here at Ysgol Eirias. It is embedded in our culture and values, our curriculum, our pedagogy and practice, our Governors and staff and our continuing professional development.
Learners are growing up in a world where gender and sexual identity, cultures, rights, and legislation are changing or evolving around the world. To respond to the ever-changing world around us, Governors and staff have pledged to support a shared commitment across the school to develop further a culture of respect, where individuals are treated equitably and fairly and feel a sense of belonging.
We want all our learners to see themselves, their families, their communities, and each other reflected across the curriculum so that they can embrace difference and diversity and recognise it as a source of strength. This of course will contribute to a cohesive, fair, and equitable society that equips learners with skills for life.
In our recent report, Estyn recognised the impact that the groups are having on the young people in our school.
