Last week our Year 12 students spent 3 days in stunning Glan llyn, Bala where they were given the opportunity to be immersed in the Welsh language and learn more about Welsh culture.

They attended lectures conducted by subject specialist, took part in workshops where they were able to hone their media production skills, sat around a camp fire listening to an acoustic set by the Welsh band Candelas, took part in a theatrical production, a spot of archery and a competitive few rounds of ten pin bowling.

The course, although challenging, forms a crucial and hugely beneficial part of the AS/A Level curriculum for Welsh second language and as you can see from the photos, our students got stuck in and took full advantage of the opportunity to use their Welsh and further their language learning.

Mr Williams, Head of Welsh, said, “I was immensely proud of each of the students who attended the course and they continued to show just how enthusiastic, polite and diligent our students really are. Da iawn chi!”
