Prevention at Ysgol Eirias

At Ysgol Eirias, we deliver Kiva-specific lessons within Year 7 Health and Wellbeing lessons and through Learner Effectiveness lessons across year groups. Alongside this, we consistently promote our EIRIAS values, which include Inclusivity and Respect.

We work closely with our primary cluster and the Transition Coordinator to ensure that all learners joining Year 7 experience a thorough and effective transition programme, helping to build strong relationships and high standards from the outset. When Year 7 learners join us in September, Kiva is taught within Health and Wellbeing lessons to help break down barriers, build positive relationships, and provide an opportunity to understand what bullying is, its impact, and how to seek support.

We involve the whole school in Anti-Bullying Week, deliver specific assemblies on respect and bullying, and take part in promotional activities such as Odd Socks Day and Show Racism the Red Card – Wear Red Day to raise awareness and promote inclusivity.
