Succeeding Together at Ysgol Eirias

GCSE students at Ysgol Eirias are this week celebrating excellent results!

I am incredibly proud of these excellent results. The students and staff of Ysgol Eirias have worked tirelessly in collaboration over the last 2 years towards their qualifications. They deserve the success they have reaped this week
Sarah Sutton, Headteacher

Core subjects of English, Maths, Cymraeg and Science have yielded high performance in the A*- C pass rate, whilst outstanding results in all areas signify the best results at the high end of the grade awards for Ysgol Eirias.

The school is very proud of the curriculum offered where students are accessing an extensive range of subjects that meet a variety of interests and needs. A number of students have achieved success despite challenging personal circumstances or significant learning difficulties over the last couple of years due to the caring system and the Additional Needs support offered. Individualised learning programmes have ensured that students can reach or exceed their potential through the varying routes offered.

Technology and Business subjects have excelled this year, in particular Art, Textiles, Graphics, Computer Science and Business Studies. Languages have also excelled where, in French all students passed at grade C and above and in Welsh over half of the students in the year gained grade A or A*! Nearly all students in the year gained the relatively new Skills Challenge Certificate at Grade C and above.

All subject areas across the school have reached high standards, particullalry at the top end of the grading awards. This has enabled students to access the routes they need to continue their journeys in whatever path they choose. The school is looking forward to high numbers of students returning to continue their education at Ysgol Eirias next academic year.
