Ysgol Eirias pupils joined beach clean to show community spirit

They were a real encouragement to the group, and many passers-by were impressed that teenagers were giving up their time.

Since moving to North Wales in October, Sarah Lander joined the Rhos Beach Clean group, a group of volunteers who meet once a month to litter pick the beach and streets around Rhos.

One morning during summer, as they were not back at school yet, Nia Jeremy (8L) and Ruby Lander (9C) joined in and did their bit to make their community a nicer, safer, cleaner place to live.

"They were a real encouragement to the group, and many passers-by were impressed that teenagers were giving up their time."

If anyone would like to get involved in a community project, the group has lots of equipment that could be borrowed. It could prove beneficial for college and university applications and would be directly contributing to improving the area around the school.
